Your Maintenance Responsibilities

Your vehicle is used, not new. You will periodically need to repair the vehicle for any defective, or “wear and tear” items. Your repair costs are not a reason for non-payment.

Should you need any repairs, call or text – the number Service advisor provided you or (978) 228-7000.

If you fail to perform the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance, such as oil changes and other periodic service, and your failure causes a breakdown, this will result in loss of your protection under your service contract. Maintenance records from the date of sale or lease supported by receipts indicating dates, mileage and service performed must be kept during the term of this service contract and made available on request.

Brakes

Brake linings today are made out of semi-metallic metals (they were previously made out of asbestos).  This will sometimes make the brakes “squeal” when pressing the brake pedal.  We will be glad to check your brakes, but we cannot guarantee your brakes will never “squeal”.  However, if your brakes “squeal” without pressing the brakes, you should immediately take your vehicle to a repair facility.

Overheating

If the oil pressure or temperature light comes on while you are driving, STOP AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY.    Severe engine damage will occur when your vehicle is operated under such conditions.

Engines overheat for many reasons.  If you choose to continue driving your vehicle with an overheated engine, expect the fix to be costly and not covered by your service contract. Please have your vehicle towed to us for proper diagnostics and repairs.
